The Harmony vacant lot needs a rainwater harvesting system - Zubby's neighborhood project
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Harmony vacant lot that will serve 456 neighbors.
🇳🇬 Abuja, Abuja FCT, Nigeria974 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 456 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $290
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thinking of you and your family. More neighborhoods should do this. Put this on a community board in Kharkiv this morning. All the best.
