For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,850. It will serve about 134 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,850 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $370 • Permits and inspections: $340 • Materials: $1,140 Thanks for reading all this. - Gabriella

  • keep going, Gabriella. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
