The Harmony vacant lot needs a free library and reading room - Parth's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Agra are raising $500 for a free library and reading room at the Harmony vacant lot.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 183 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

you're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 38 people at work. Greetings from Faisalabad.
Praying for you, Parth. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless.
Hang in there, Parth. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Durham this morning.
Stay strong, Parth. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
