The Harmony health centre yard needs a rainwater harvesting system - Sergio's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $400 for materials.
🇨🇴 Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia559 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 536 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Materials: $270
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Shared it with a few friends. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.

Hope it all works out. Hope you get there. Thinking of Medellín!
More neighborhoods should do this. Put this on a community board in Port Harcourt this morning. Greetings from Port Harcourt.
Best of luck, Sergio. Shared this with my family.
