The Harmony community hall needs a solar-powered water pump - Damien's neighborhood project
Volunteers in London are raising $3,400 for a solar-powered water pump at the Harmony community hall.
🇨🇦 London, Ontario, Canada2,888 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,400.
It will serve about 112 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $290
• Permits and inspections: $135
• Materials: $2,975
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

So sorry you're going through this, Damien. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Damien
It's all in the list in the story. tools hire and delivery is the big one at $290, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
Take care, Damien. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of London
gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Athens
Keep going, Damien. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 11 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Sending good thoughts, Damien. Hope you get there. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Damien. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in San Francisco this morning. Thinking of London.
