The Freedom vacant lot needs a community fridge - Saraswathi's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $170, and the remaining cost is $200. It will serve about 238 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $200 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $95 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Permits and inspections: $60 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
