The Freedom health centre yard needs a youth football pitch - Modupe's neighborhood project

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 231 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $460 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $15 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Modupe
