The Freedom community hall needs a repair café workshop - Smit's neighborhood project

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 511 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $510 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
