For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $200. It will serve about 525 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $200 goes: • Permits and inspections: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 • Safety equipment and signage: $80 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Tshepo
