The Cedar health centre yard needs a free library and reading room - Maciej's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,350. It will serve about 351 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,350 goes: • Materials: $1,050 • Permits and inspections: $135 • Safety equipment and signage: $105 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
