For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,100. It will serve about 159 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $350 • Safety equipment and signage: $340 • Tools hire and delivery: $410 With deep gratitude, Beau
