The Cedar community hall needs a free library and reading room - Noemi's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $560, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 355 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $650 goes: • Permits and inspections: $135 • Safety equipment and signage: $260 • Tools hire and delivery: $255 Thanks for reading all this.
