The Baobab vacant lot needs a solar-powered water pump - Nikom's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $500 for materials.
🇹🇭 Thailand624 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 416 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $300
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $90
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nikom.
Wishing you peace, Nikom. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
more neighborhoods should do this. My neighbor in Bengaluru donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
Praying for you, Nikom. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Thinking of Bangkok.
Wishing you the best. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from San Antonio.
