For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,250. It will serve about 248 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,250 goes: • Materials: $1,450 • Permits and inspections: $280 • Safety equipment and signage: $250 • Tools hire and delivery: $270 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Isaiah

  • Rooting for you, Isaiah. Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out.
