The Acacia health centre yard needs a solar-powered water pump - Douglas's neighborhood project

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $320, and the remaining cost is $3,900. It will serve about 361 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $3,900 goes: • Permits and inspections: $250 • Safety equipment and signage: $320 • Materials: $3,330 Every share and every dollar helps.
