The Acacia health centre yard needs a repair café workshop - Guadalupe's neighborhood project

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $1,900 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,900. It will serve about 209 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,900 goes: • Materials: $830 • Permits and inspections: $230 • Safety equipment and signage: $420 • Tools hire and delivery: $420 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
