For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,150. It will serve about 156 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,150 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $150 • Tools hire and delivery: $330 • Materials: $2,670 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
