For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 95 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $165 • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Manisha
