Terry was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in July. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $5,350 short.
my father has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since July. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Terry struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Terry won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
