Tammy is dealing with an order to leave for 'renovations' and needs someone who knows the law in California to explain the options.

My landlord in Los Angeles has given me an order to leave for 'renovations'. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in California could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in California would also be appreciated.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

hope things get better soon, Tammy. This could happen to any of us. After 17 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
Hang in there. Looking forward to the next update. Sent it to 23 people at work.
