Tenant-rights advice for Hui in San Jose: a short consultation
A brief consultation with a housing advisor would help Hui understand their rights.

My landlord in San Jose has given me an order to leave for 'renovations'. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in California could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in California would also be appreciated.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thinking of you, Hui. Shared this with my family. Blessings.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Córdoba.
