Temitope was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at the Badagry Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Temitope is 27, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Badagry Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Transport to the Badagry Oncology Institute: $55
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $900
• Scans and lab work: $190
