Tariq's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled cataract surgery in November is out of reach without help covering $6,950 of the cost.

Tariq was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at San Diego University Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,950 short.
my father has been in and out of San Diego University Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Tariq struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Tariq won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
