For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,600. It will serve about 521 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,600 goes: • Materials: $1,800 • Permits and inspections: $300 • Safety equipment and signage: $290 • Tools hire and delivery: $210 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Liam
