Zubby was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in June. The surgeon at Bonny Orthopedic Institute recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $400, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $300 short.
my husband has been in and out of Bonny Orthopedic Institute since June. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Zubby struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Zubby won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
