Zainab was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in May. The surgeon at Hyderabad Regional Medical Center recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $870, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $650 short.
my mother has been in and out of Hyderabad Regional Medical Center since May. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $870 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Zainab struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Zainab won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
