Yoon-ah was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in June. The surgeon at Mapo General Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,750, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,350 short.
my mother has been in and out of Mapo General Hospital since June. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Yoon-ah struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Yoon-ah won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
