Yodit was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in December. The surgeon at Jimma Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,100 short. my daughter has been in and out of Jimma Orthopedic Institute since December. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find. While we wait, Yodit struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Yodit won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
