Gwagwalada
Yewande was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in July. The surgeon at Gwagwalada University Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $570, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $400 short. my sister has been in and out of Gwagwalada University Hospital since July. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $570 is more than we can find. While we wait, Yewande struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Yewande won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $400 goes: • Hospital stay (5 nights): $240 • Travel and lodging for the family: $75 • Physiotherapy sessions: $85 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Emeka
