Yaowalak was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in February. The surgeon at Bangkok Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,100, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,850 short.
my mother has been in and out of Bangkok Regional Medical Center since February. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Yaowalak struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Yaowalak won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
