Warri
Wunmi was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in June. The surgeon at Warri Orthopedic Institute recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,300, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $650 short. my mother has been in and out of Warri Orthopedic Institute since June. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,300 is more than we can find. While we wait, Wunmi struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Wunmi won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $650 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $340 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $180 • Physiotherapy sessions: $70 • Travel and lodging for the family: $60 With deep gratitude, Ibrahim

  • Rooting for you, Ibrahim. I hope things turn around soon. Take care

    • Keep going, Ibrahim. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
