Surgery fund for Wunmi: gallbladder removal in Lagos
A scheduled gallbladder removal in January is out of reach without help covering $550 of the cost.

Wunmi was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in October. The surgeon at Lagos University Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for January. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,100, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $550 short.
my sister has been in and out of Lagos University Hospital since October. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,100 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Wunmi struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Wunmi won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
