Waylon was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in January. The surgeon at Saint Mary Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,600 short.
my husband has been in and out of Saint Mary Hospital since January. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Waylon struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Waylon won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
