Ogbomosho
Vivian was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in August. The surgeon at Ogbomosho Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,650, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,000 short. my wife has been in and out of Ogbomosho Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,650 is more than we can find. While we wait, Vivian struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Vivian won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,000 goes: • Post-operative medication: $50 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $420 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $340 • Physiotherapy sessions: $90 • Travel and lodging for the family: $100 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Abubakar

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 21 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Ogbomosho.

Thinking of you and your family, Abubakar. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
