Surgery fund for Vadym: cataract surgery in Kyiv
Vadym needs cataract surgery at Kyiv Community Hospital and the family is $1,350 short of the hospital's estimate.

In March I was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. My surgeon at Kyiv Community Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,800, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $1,350 short.
Doctors at Kyiv Community Hospital told me a large ovarian cyst will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,800 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
