Uri was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in March. The surgeon at Jerusalem University Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,550 short. my son has been in and out of Jerusalem University Hospital since March. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Uri struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks.
