Surgery fund for Uchenna: septoplasty in Kano
A scheduled septoplasty in December is out of reach without help covering $1,200 of the cost.

Uchenna was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,400, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,200 short.
my father has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Uchenna struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Uchenna won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.

• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $530
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $430
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $80
• Post-operative medication: $35
• Physiotherapy sessions: $80
• Travel and lodging for the family: $45
