Tabitha was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in March. The surgeon at Nairobi University Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,900, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $950 short. my daughter has been in and out of Nairobi University Hospital since March. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,900 is more than we can find. While we wait, Tabitha struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Tabitha won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $950 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $440 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $200 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $50 • Post-operative medication: $80 • Physiotherapy sessions: $105 • Travel and lodging for the family: $75 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Dorcas
