Solène was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in July. The surgeon at Grenoble Community Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,100 short.
my mother has been in and out of Grenoble Community Hospital since July. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Solène struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Solène won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
