Siti was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in April. The surgeon at Jakarta Selatan University Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $830, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $500 short.
my wife has been in and out of Jakarta Selatan University Hospital since April. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $830 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Siti struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Siti won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
