Sibusiso was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in February. The surgeon at Johannesburg Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,450, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,700 short.
my father has been in and out of Johannesburg Regional Medical Center since February. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,450 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Sibusiso struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Sibusiso won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
