Serenity was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Derry Regional Medical Center recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $7,350 short.
my mother has been in and out of Derry Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Serenity struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Serenity won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
