Ruby was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Sacramento Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $6,400 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Sacramento Community Hospital since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ruby struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Ruby won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
