Ruben was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in June. The surgeon at Haarlem University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $7,650 short. my son has been in and out of Haarlem University Hospital since June. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ruben struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Ruben won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $7,650 goes: • Hospital stay (4 nights): $3,000 • Post-operative medication: $230 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,350 • Physiotherapy sessions: $640 • Travel and lodging for the family: $430 If you're reading this, thank you. - Tess
