Rose was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in August. The surgeon at Lapu-Lapu Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,850, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,400 short.
my mother has been in and out of Lapu-Lapu Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,850 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rose struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Rose won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
