Rony was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in April. The surgeon at Savar Community Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $600 short.
my husband has been in and out of Savar Community Hospital since April. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rony struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Rony won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
