Surgery fund for Rony: a partial thyroidectomy in Pune
After a benign brain tumor, Rony was cleared for a partial thyroidectomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Rony was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in December. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,400, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since December. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rony struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Rony won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $55
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $310
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $530
• Travel and lodging for the family: $60
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $95
