Roman was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in December. The surgeon at Leeds Regional Medical Center recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,000 short.
my son has been in and out of Leeds Regional Medical Center since December. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Roman struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Roman won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
