Surgery fund for Rashed: a craniotomy in Nashik
A scheduled a craniotomy in November is out of reach without help covering $750 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction. My surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,050, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $750 short.
Doctors at Saint Matthew Hospital told me a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without a craniotomy. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,050 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $750 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $60
• Physiotherapy sessions: $130
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $240
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $295
Thanks for being kind about this.
