Rani was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in April. The surgeon at Allentown General Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $4,600 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Allentown General Hospital since April. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Rani struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Rani won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
